This Country of Ours,
Where four young men can wake up with hope and promise, only to end up in a heap of burning rubber.
Where a village which a student community does not hesitate to kill with such brutality and RELISH on little hint of SUSPECTED theft.
The same village which surely benefits from the presence of the students, both commercially and socially.
Where a lynch can occur a few metres from a police station and the IGP can proudly say that 'my men were chased away by the mob'. He meant ARMED POLICEMEN versus people bearing sticks ans stones!!!!!! Did this same NPF not shoot a young girl dead last week during a demolition exercise in Abuja?
IS THIS COUNTRY WORTH LIVING IN?
RIP ALuu4

NO MORE MISS FACULTY OF SCIENCE
The beauty contest show that was designed to select the most beautiful girl in the Faculty of Science, Unibuja was yesterday canceled by the Dean, Prof. Isu. This came after the strenuous arrangement by the organizers. In her words "why do you guys want to turn our girls into prostitutes". Hmmm...I guess somebody need to tell this people that we are not here for only certificates. Besides, who said there are no other ways to make it look more decent? smh

UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA: THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS (GLORIFIED) SECONDARY SCHOOL EVER
At
the name ‘University of Abuja’, who wouldn’t think “PRESTIGIOUS”? Of course, it
is the University of the Federal Capital Territory of the Giant of Africa,
Nigeria. A place where, ideally, the pace should be set for other Higher
Institutions in the country, a pride of Nigeria and obviously replicating what
the system of Higher Education should be in the country. But is that it?
Those
in the system pretty much can answer that, if for fear, at least with a ‘sneaky
grin’. For such a prestigious University with less than 300 words of
description on Wikipedia.com and practically no much information an outsider
can lay hands on, an institution known for internally accrediting courses it
can’t offer, we all will be prone to ask “what the heck is that for?”
How
it all started?
The
University took off from a temporary site, made up of three blocks of building
meant for a primary school in Gwagwalada, tagged the "mini - campus".
Academic activities started on the mini - campus in 1990 prior to her
establishment on January 1st , 1988 [under University of Abuja Act - No.
106(1992) cap U2 LFN(2004)] as a dual mode University with the mandate to run
both conventional and distance learning academic programmes. In the same year
(1990), the University was allocated an expanse of land covering over 11,800 hectares
along the Abuja - Airport road for the development of its main campus which now
runs alongside the mini-campus.
The
construction of the main campus is a whooping 22yrs project – a snail project
indeed, right? Maybe you’re wrong, but wait! How could that be? Could it be the
Administrators of the institution or the Federal Government? If it is the
Administrators, how cursed can an institution be for 22yrs without a rational
Vice Chancellor to pioneer with all doggedness such a project. I think it’s far
beyond that or maybe we are right all the way.
It’s
kind of complicated but on this blog, the truth will be unveiled.
Stay glued!
